About & method

A song list
for the room.

Songbook is the list you use before the singing starts. Choose a song, make a setlist, and bring the right choices to the screen or machine you already have.

Songbook is an independent karaoke songbook published by Song Space. It searches 138,462 real SongHub and Kara-okay entries, plus a 328-song curated shortlist across 24 genres and 9 languages, with collections and a setlist builder. It does not host lyrics or audio and is not affiliated with any karaoke platform.

Why it exists

The song list is
the hard part.

Karaoke software is everywhere. A clean, portable, well-edited song list is not. Most lists live inside one machine, one app, or one venue’s licensing deal. When the machine changes, the list disappears.

Songbook keeps each choice clear: title, artist, and the details that help a room decide. The simple layout helps you move from a song idea to a setlist without getting lost.

The method

How the list is built.

01 / USEFUL

Real-room songs

Chosen for singability, recognition, and a clear place in a night — not for technical difficulty.

02 / WIDE

A broad catalog

138,462 real SongHub and Kara-okay entries, plus 328 shortlist picks across 24 genres.

03 / STABLE

Easy to find

Search real lists by original code, title, artist, or category. Shortlist songs keep a stable SB reference.

04 / HONEST

Clear expectations

Songbook helps you choose and plan. Your karaoke service or machine handles the singing.

The boundaries

What this is.
What it isn’t.

Is
  • A searchable catalog of real SongHub and Kara-okay lists.
  • A 328-song curated shortlist for planning and printing.
  • A setlist planner that stays on your device.
  • A songbook you can save for later.
  • A printable list for the room.
  • Useful with any app, TV, or machine.
Isn’t
  • A lyrics site or backing-track player.
  • An official karaoke platform.
  • A guarantee that a song is licensed in your region.
  • A social network, store, or ad product.
  • A replacement for the machine’s own catalog.
Standards

Quiet by default.

Songbook is free to use, has no sign-up, and does not show advertising. Your setlist stays with you unless you choose to share it.

Song titles and artist names are used for identification. If you represent a rights holder and believe an entry is inaccurate, contact support@songhub.space.

The catalog is reviewed for duplicate entries, clear descriptions, and a good mix of songs.

Questions

About the project.

Who makes Songbook?

Songbook is published by Song Space. It is an independent project for people who plan karaoke nights and want a clear song list that works anywhere.

What is the difference between the real songbooks and the shortlist?

The catalog searches 3 real song lists: SongHub 42,772, SongHub 47,998, and Kara-okay, covering 138,462 entries. The 328-song shortlist is a separate, hand-picked set for planning and printing. You can switch between the real lists in Setup.

How are shortlist songs chosen?

Shortlist songs are chosen for real-room usefulness: recognizability, singability, and variety across genre, language, and decade. The shortlist favors songs that work in a shared rotation, not technical showpieces.

Does Songbook host lyrics or audio?

No. Songbook is a catalog and planning tool. It helps you choose and organize songs; your karaoke service or machine handles the performance.

How often is the catalog updated?

The catalog is reviewed periodically. New songs are added when they fill a useful gap in the collection.
